In 1940 Omega released the calibre 285 featuring a sweeping second hand and Breguet hairspring. By 1943 they had refined the calibre to include the relatively new Incabloc shock absorber to prevent damage to the balance staff upon impact. They continued to use the 285 until 1963 by which time their range of 550 calibres had been released. The 285 is a simple and robust movement designed for accurate every-day use.
