I've serviced a lot of watches in my time as a watchmaker, but few have left an impression on me like the 8531. The Must de Cartier Tank Vermeil was a gold plated version of their famous Tank LC introduced at a lower price point to appeal to a wider audience. It revolutionised Cartier's sales, going from around 3000 units produced in the mid 70s to over 160,000 by the end of the decade.
